About Us

At Zinneken's Belgian waffles | Harvard square, the draw is simple, a warm, made-to-order stop on Massachusetts Ave that has earned a 4.6-star reputation from more than 1,700 reviews. The setting fits the rhythm of Harvard Square, where students, neighbors, and weekend wanderers all cross paths looking for something sweet, comforting, and easy to enjoy on the go or at a small table.

This is the kind of place people remember for its mood as much as its menu. Guests talk about a quiet, sunny afternoon feel, a cozy break from the cold, and a space that can lift the day a little. That says a lot about the experience here. It feels casual, welcoming, and focused on the kind of dessert-shop energy that makes a quick stop turn into a favorite ritual.

With Belgian waffles at the center of the experience, Zinneken's brings a European café spirit to Cambridge without losing its local character. Open seven days a week from 10:00 AM to 11:00 PM, it is an easy choice for an afternoon pause, an after-dinner treat, or a late-evening craving right near Harvard Square.

What We Offer

Zinneken's focuses on the kind of sweet, satisfying service that keeps people coming back, a menu built around Belgian waffles and café-style desserts served in a lively Harvard Square setting. It is a natural stop for a quick snack, a relaxed break, or a dessert run when you want something made fresh and easy to enjoy.

The experience works well for different moods and moments. Some visitors come in for a quiet seat and a slower pace, while others stop by when the square is busy and the line moves with the neighborhood's steady energy. That mix of convenience and comfort makes the shop feel like part dessert destination, part everyday hangout.

Because the shop is open every day until 11:00 PM, it fits daytime cravings and evening plans alike. Whether you are meeting a friend near Harvard, taking a study break, or just following the smell of something sweet down Massachusetts Ave, Zinneken's makes the stop feel worth it.

"Perfect for sitting quietly on a sunny afternoon, especially when you're feeling down. Gourmand Waffle: Liege waffle/banana/whipped cream/caramel. The ultimate sweetness is evident from the ingredients. The waffle was light and crispy on the outside, soft and moist on the inside; the sweetness of the banana and caramel is mellow and rich, the pearl sugar was slightly caramelized, and the sweetness of the cream was natural and light. Every bite offered a different layer of flavor. But most importantly, it was really sweet, and sweetness is the most soul-stirring enjoyment. It was sweet enough to bring peace, allowing you to temporarily escape the world and focus on this plate of beautiful fairytale. Café au Lait (Latte): Beautifully layered, with a natural milky aroma. But what does the menu mean by confusing café au lait with latte?"

"Ventured to Harvard Sq for a quick snack on a chilly fall morning. It was quite busy since it was a Saturday afternoon so people were saving seats before they ordered. I was stuck waiting for a window seat for a while but eventually I got one. I ordered the Nutella and banana waffle and added whip cream. It was warm and tasted good. I've had some fresh to made order waffles before so I couldn't tell if this was one or if it was warmed, but either way it tasted good. I got a caramel macchiato to drink which was good too. Interior is very cozy and the colors inside are very warm. I love all the natural lighting and seats by them, but if it's crowded when you come...good luck.... Overall cute date spot or a place to bring friends, but not too many cuz it is small."

"The waffles were amazing. The place smelt really yummy. You will smell like waffles by the time you walk out in the best of ways. Seating may be hard to come by. Recommend going early, but there was already a line before they open"

"Love love love thier food. Presentation of every dish is so perfect, and it comes out in such a quick manner. My only gripe is that the place is so small? Which is hard to change, but they do have a food truck I see on occasion."
